Thailand Pavilion breaks ground for Expo 2020

Thailand’s pavilion design at Expo 2020 will showcase the inspiring journey of its unique charm into a ‘smart’ country of Thailand 4.0.

Thailand pavilion of 3,606 sqm will be located in the Mobility Thematic District of Expo 2020. The concept of the pavilion is to stimulate the global audience with a journey to Thailand being a hub of digital technology, innovation connectivity and the gateway for future mobility.

The uniqueness of Thai culture is what propels the world to take interest in the promising future of prosperity and growth. Thailand welcomes the world to closely appreciate the rich heritage and culture that bespeaks the ‘Thai DNA’ of thoughtfulness and smiles. Moreover, the pavilion facade will bear resemblance to the flower garland with woven flower blossoms. Flowers will bloom with inscribed messages from the visitors depicting mobility and connectivity.

Thailand is one of the first few in the list of 190 countries to break ground for Expo 2020. The ceremony started with a flower garland ceremony and a cultural Thai dance performance. The ground-breaking ceremony took place at Expo site on 28th April, 2019 in the presence of Dr. Tarek Oliveria Shayya, Board Director Expo 2020, Manuela Gracia Pascual, Director International Participants Expo 2020, Ms. Ajarin Pattanapanchai, Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Digital Economy and Society, Dr. Nattapon Nimmanphatcharin and President/CEO of Digital Economy Promotion Agency (DEPA) along with Thailand Expo team, Index Creative Village and OP3 Expo team.
