Expo 2020 Responds to COVID-19

In the midst of COVID-19 crisis, the Expo team takes all necessary action internally and in close collaboration with the UAE government to minimize the impact of the global pandemic on Expo site.

It is our collective aim to deliver the World’s Greatest Show and Expo team remains firm to protect the all workers at Expo site and to deliver the show when the world is ready.

While everyone involved in Expo 2020 Dubai remains firmly committed, many countries have been significantly impacted by COVID-19 and they have expressed a need to postpone Expo’s opening by one year, to enable them to overcome this challenge.

As many countries around the world are fighting COVID-19 and have put forward their request for postponement of the event, Expo 2020 has also supported the proposal in thespirit of solidarity. The final decision will be taken by the Bureau International des Expositions (BIE) General Assembly and is expected to be announced end of April, 2020.

As we await the decision of new show dates of Expo 2020, all parties working on Expo site are working collectively to ensure the health and safety of all workers. Practices like disinfection of transport, frequent body temperature checks, wearing gloves and masks, necessary hygiene supplies and social distancing are being adapted by all contractors on site.

The work to deliver the “World’s Greatest Show” must continue and now is the time to unite to ensure the health and safety of all involved in Expo 2020 projects.

Stay home. Stay Safe. #Covid19
